Version 2026-08-26.2
This is an early version. We are a young company and still building out how we handle information. We will expand this notice as those practices develop, and we would rather say less and mean it than publish something that sounds complete and is not.
This explains what information we handle, why, and who else touches it. Our customers are attorneys and their firms, and the commitments below are written with them first.
Information we handle
Four kinds:
- Your account. Your name and email address, held so you can sign in and so we can contact you about the service.
- What you upload. The lists and case documents you give us to work on, and any edits or notes you make on the results.
- What we research for you. Our customers use the service to research individuals connected to their cases. To do that we obtain information about those individuals from background-check and public-records providers and from publicly available sources, which may include images.
- When something breaks. If you turn on automatic error reports, we receive the technical details of the failure — the error, where in the app it happened, and your browser and device settings. Names, email addresses, and case and juror identifiers are stripped out before it is sent. It is off unless you turn it on, and we never capture your screen or send your files.
What we do with it
We use it to provide the service: to research the individuals you ask about, to organise what comes back, and to produce analysis you can work from. Parts of that analysis are performed by automated systems, including AI models run through providers we contract with.
We also use your account details to operate the service — signing you in, sending you service email, and taking payment.
Who else touches it
We rely on other companies to run the service, and information passes to them for that purpose. By category, they are: providers of background-check and public-records data; providers who supply publicly available information; cloud hosting and storage providers; providers who run the AI models used in our analysis; our payment processor; and our email delivery provider.
Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and do not reach our systems.
Cookies and your browser
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser stores your display preference. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
How long we keep things
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the service to you. Our retention and deletion practices are still being built out, and this notice will be updated to describe them once they are settled.
