All data belongs to the client. We do not claim ownership of any documents, files, or information provided by clients.

No. We do not use client data to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the service to that client. The analysis runs on AI models from outside providers, reached through their standard commercial interfaces, and what those providers do with what we send is governed by their own terms rather than by ours.

Deleted material is removed from the systems that run the service. We also back up our databases nightly, and those backups rotate out on a rolling schedule, so deleted material can remain in a backup until it rotates out. We would rather say so than promise a complete erasure we cannot carry out.

We never sell or rent client data. We do pass information to the companies we contract with to run the service: research and public-records providers, cloud hosting, the providers who run our AI models, and our payment and email providers. They receive it to provide their part of the service to us.

Nobody here reads client case materials as a matter of course, and we do not mine their contents. Our systems process them to produce the requested analysis. We filter our diagnostic logs to keep case material out of them; the filter has known limits, so we also keep what those logs collect to a minimum.

Traffic to the service is encrypted in transit. Files are passed only to the providers that help us deliver the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We apply security updates as they are released.

Yes. Empath Legal publishes a connector that an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can use to look up the venue facts we publish for each state and county, and to help an attorney start an Empath Legal account. The connector needs no sign-in. It does not read or change any case, juror or document data.

It has four tools. venues_list returns the states we publish venue facts for, or the county summaries inside one state. venues_get returns the published detail for one county. propose_register proposes creating an account and returns a link that you open in your own browser to confirm; nothing happens until you do. request_access sends a request for access to the Empath Legal team on your behalf; the assistant asks you first, and the answer says approval is pending. The venue tools are read-only.

In your assistant's connector settings, add a remote connector and enter the server URL https://api.empathlegal.com/public/mcp. No sign-in or key is needed. Then ask the assistant a question, for example: "What venue facts does Empath Legal publish for Harris County, Texas?", "Which states does Empath Legal publish venue information for?" or "Help me start an Empath Legal account so I can prepare jury selection."
