Grant isn't just a founder; he is a civil litigator who knows the feeling of drowning in logistics during trial. A recipient of the Louisiana Bar's Top 40 Under 40, Grant focuses on municipal defense and constitutional claims. He founded Empath Legal because he needed it himself—to stop the cognitive overload of research. Grant ensures that the platform is lawyer-friendly, serving as the bridge between the courtroom and the code to guarantee the tool works exactly how a litigator needs it to.
Shane (Xingeng) Zhang
CEO/Founder
Shane turns legal vision into technical reality. With a background building high-stakes systems for Citigroup and healthcare research, he specializes in making Generative AI scalable, reliable, and secure. Shane takes the requirement for a seamless, intuitive experience and applies it to the platform—engineering the complex AI infrastructure that allows the software to be powerful on the backend but simple enough for any lawyer to use on the frontend.
